Baked Whole Grain Chips or Crackers



Looking for a high fiber, tasty chip.  These flavorful whole grain chips have protein, 5 g of fiber, and are low in sodium, and fat.   Eat them alone or use to dip into Hummus or beans.  Serving size,  one 6-8 “ tortilla.  Try using a spinach tortilla in this recipe for a change of flavor.


1 multi grain pita bread  OR 1 whole wheat tortilla (Look for  5 grams of fiber per serving)
Olive oil or cooking spray
¼ tsp. Garlic powder or minced garlic
Italian seasonings
¼ tsp. Black pepper

Place a tortilla on a cutting board and brush on or spray it lightly with olive oil or cooking spray.  Spray your baking sheet with cooking spray.  Spread tortilla with garlic, sprinkle with Italian seasonings and pepper.  Cut tortilla into triangle shapes and transfer to baking sheet.  Bake in 350 degree oven for 5-7 mins.  or until crisp.  Watch to prevent burning.

Variation:  add chili powder or dash of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick!
